Bringing high-quality care to your neighborhood—one stop at a time. Samaritan Health Clinic of Pickens County will launch a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in partnership with the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM)-Carolinas. The clinic-on-wheels delivers primary care, preventive screenings, routine immunizations and health-education services directly to uninsured, low-income residents—removing transportation barriers and extending God’s love throughout Pickens County.
Shared Mission: Both organizations focus on rural and medically underserved populations, aligning perfectly to reach neighbors who might otherwise go without care.
Hands-On Medical Training: VCOM’s medical students and faculty volunteer aboard the MMU, gaining real-world experience while expanding our capacity to serve.
Community Support: The effort is backed by local health partners in the upstate.
If you already qualify for services at Samaritan Health Clinic—uninsured Pickens County residents with limited income—you’re eligible for the MMU at no cost. Bring a photo ID, proof of residency and income documents (pay stub or benefits letter) on your first visit.
